Licenses, certifications and registrations
No license required for entry-level positions as an electrical and electronics engineer. A Professional Engineering License (PE) that enables a higher degree of leadership and independence can be acquired later in your career. Authorized engineers are referred to as professional engineers (PE). An EP can monitor the work of other engineers, sign projects, and provide services directly to the public. In some states, engineers need to be trained to obtain their license. Most states recognize other states' licenses if the requirements for the licensing state meet or exceed the licensing requirements.
Advancement
Electrical and electronics engineers can rise to managerial positions and lead a team of engineers and technicians there.
